Cushpa name of the archaeological site located in the upper part of the Huaucha ravine at an approximate altitude of 3624 meters above sea level in the Province of Canta. It presents a marked influence of the Atavillo culture (500 - 1000 AD.) That developed great citadels such as Rupac and Chiprac located in the upper parts of Huaral.
Cushpa is rarely visited despite having imposing architecture and being surrounded by scenic beauty. To get there, you must first take the detour to the town of San Buenaventura, once there there is a lodging that the community manages and also a hotel with very good facilities. It is recommended to spend the night in San Buenaventura and start the walk to Cushpa at 5:00 a.m. since it takes about 3 to 4 hours, the ascent is very demanding so it is recommended to bring water, fruits and be in conditions that you allow it.
