On the evening of 4/9/2019 as Super Bulldog Weekend was fully underway at Mississippi State University, a cyclical supercell thunderstorm produced multiple tornadoes as it approached Starkville, home of MSU. After causing damage in rural Oktibbeha county, the storm caused damage on the southeast side of Starkville.
The storm would move into Monroe county (Mississippi) and rapidly produce a strong tornado. That tornado would destroy numerous structures, including a mobile home with a family inside that remarkably lived with serious injuries. The storm would eventually produce two tornadoes at once, the second forming in the cone-of-silence for the KGWX Nexrad radar.
